Name: Blend
Race: Summon
Appearance: Blend looks like a fairly young man, with green eyes. He wears a long robe that's somewhere between purple and red, and yellow around the sleeves and bottom. On the yellow parts, there are markings that look like waves, every wave separated by a dot. There is a yellow clasp on the front of his robe, near the neck, to help it stay on. He has a hat in the same color as his robe. There are two yellow circles at the base of the hat, that meet and merge at the front part between his eyes. The hat bends twice, and a yellow circle lies around the hat at each bend. He wears a collar that consists of two yellow rings, attached to each other with a small pole at the back. Beneath his robes he wears a light chestplate that's blue with yellow around the edges. He wears knee-caps and leg guards, these the same colors as the chest. He wears brown boots, and dark purple clothes where he has no armor. He has a simple wooden staff. The lower part of the staff grows narrower, and the end of it is rather sharp. The upper end of the staff splits into five "fingers" that grasp a large, blue orb. The orb seems to be made of glass, but is of a tougher material (plastic?) and isn't transparent.
Personality: Blend is not easy to anger, nor sadden. He spends most of his time happy, worried, or confused. He doesn't enjoy fighting, but does it anyway in order to protect people. He's honorable enough not to attack someone that's down, but tends to be extra happy and giddy if he wins a fight. He cares very much for his friends, and can be very stubborn in his efforts to help them. He isn't afraid to get hurt while protecting someone else, but isn't very strong-willed, so psychological attacks tend to work well. He is usually calm and patient, and doesn't let bad events get him down for long, but is easy to frighten or surprise. He doesn't hate others - instead, he fears those who have harmed him. He dislikes hate as a whole, seeing how it affects his friend. He is likely to go along with something even though he doesn't like it, or atleast try to do so. He dislikes killing and death in general, but knows that it's sometimes necessary. He always tries to look at things positively, and adjusts to changes rather easily. He's naïve and trusts others easily, as long as they seem to treat him as a living being.
Backstory: Blend was created by an old summoner, Matsuri, in order to help her around the house. He was given magical abilities as well as the ability to make really great tea - this was his main purpose, actually. He had a big family with many varying summons, and everyone had a purpose of some sort and an ability that'd let them help out around the house. Blend didn't understand the extent of his magical abilities at first, so another summon - Delorean - helped him learn offensive magic, and he soon became more skilled than his teacher. He had been planning to learn defensive magic as well, from another summon, but didn't get enough time. As time passed, Matsuri begun to run low on money and supplies. Sighing, she decided to sell some of her summons - but she assured them that they would come to good homes, and she would personally make sure that they were well. Blend wasn't among the summons that would be sold, and just agreed quietly as he knew that it was for the best. The sale drew attention; Quite a bit of unwanted attention, too! One night, a thief broke into their house, aiming to steal all the summons that were for sale. However, he realized as he entered that there were many more powerful summons. He stole several of them, including Blend, as they slept. By the time morning came, he was gone. Blend soon found out that their captor was named Thomas - a petty, rude thief who didn't care about anything other than his own gain. He worried that they would be sold, but Thomas had other plans. He forced his captive summons to help him steal, protect him from guards and civilians, and even assault whoever attacked him, acting as distractions until the thief had gotten to safety. None of them wanted it, but were forced to obey as Thomas continually threatened to kill one of the weakest ones - Pip - if they refused his orders. One day, Matsuri managed to track the thief down, along with the summon Tiwlor. They demanded the summons back. Thomas refused, releasing Blend and ordering him to attack the two - Blend, however, refused and instead restrained Thomas, allowing them to take the trapped summons. But as Thomas had been holding Blend's box, he threw the item away hard, sending it down a slope. Although they'd managed to take the other summons, this meant Matsuri couldn't get Blend back as easily - Blend was soon trapped in the tumbling box, leaving Thomas free. The thief ran off down the slope, and had managed to get out of sight before anyone could catch him. Thomas just chuckled to himself as he, once on the faraway bottom, found and took Blend's box once more. After this event, Blend was forced to take on the duties of all the other summons. Although Thomas no longer had his previous bargaining chip, he still had Blend's box - and if Blend refused to help, Thomas would hurt him or keep him locked up until he gave in. However, he was unable to handle everything that Thomas forced on him, as the man often didn't tell him what he was supposed to do - leading him to be killed by angry villagers as he was used as a decoy, and often not being allowed to recover fully between these attacks, still being wounded and tired each time he was sent out.. Angered with his poor performance, Thomas eventually cussed him out and yelled at him, and Blend lost his temper, arguing back. The thief soon became enraged, trapping Blend in his box and throwing him hard into a river. Thankfully, the box was waterproof and Blend didn't drown, but he was afraid and didn't know what was going on, and thought he was still with Thomas. A young girl, a merchant who picked up things that others just discarded, picked him up and decided to sell him as she thought the box was simply a pretty box for tea, and the lid was stuck. She sold him on to a wandering knight, Cyne, who was rather shocked once he found what the contents of the box really were. Blend was surprised and disoriented, but as he realized that he was no longer with Thomas, he quickly cheered up and became very happy. Upon hearing his story, Cyne agreed to helping Blend find his way back home to his family as a summon cannot get far on their own, being quite valuable on the market and thus very likely to be kidnapped. Ever since, he has been travelling with Cyne, and they have become best friends.
Special: Blend is quite good at offensive magic. He doesn't know any particular spells, but can use fire, electricity and ice however he wants, as well as regular energy and even forming the wind to attack or stop people. He seems to prefer ice, as it's the least lethal and he would rather stop or restrain the enemy than kill. On the other hand... Blend cannot heal, or use defensive magic of any sort. The closest he can do is to use ice to make a barrier, which rarely lasts long. Blend is quite good at making magic tea! All he needs is water. Although, if he tries making any other food or liquid, it turns out rather disastrous. He can also make flashy lightshows, but this exhausts him greatly. Gaining this ability took some practice, trial-and-error, and two singed kindergartens. He's able to float, and ALWAYS floats if he can. As a result, he isn't good at running or moving about a lot on the ground, leaving him unable to outrun most things if he loses his magic. Blend seems to have limitless energy, never growing exhausted or weak from prolonged fighting. This is because he gathers his energy from the box in which he lives, so if the box is damaged, he will be more cautious about the amount and strength of the spells he uses. Blend is able to heal from any wounds if he rests in his box, as it heals all of its contents. The amount of time it takes for him to heal depends on the severity of the wound. Even fatal wounds that would kill a normal person (an impaled head) would simply force him into his box so that he can be healed. However, if "killed" this way, he will remain unconscious and unresponsive until the wound can be healed - it often takes up to a week before he can respond, if he was killed by a slash or stab for example. If completely annihilated, it will take up to a month before he's able to wake up again. If the box is opened or damaged before Blend wakes up, he will die. Having no soul, it's not possible to use spells that would normally assault one's soul on Blend. However, if he dies, it will be impossible to recover his life in any way, as his conscious is made out of energy and shatters upon his death. Blend is made of energy, and as a result has no heart or other organs, even though he still feels the pain. This lets him survive normally lethal wounds, or attacks that focus on stopping certain organs. There are, however, gatherings of energy in his head and chest since a lot of energy passes through there, creating weak points similar to a brain and a heart. Blend is only able to use magic if he holds his staff. Break it or take it away from him, and he is completely helpless. If he takes another item similar in shape, he's able to use it - but it is much more exhausting, while making much weaker spells, so he only tries to get such a thing in an emergency or if he feels he has no other choice. The armor is only for show, and doesn't actually increase Blend's defense in the least. Blend knows NOTHING about first aid, never having needed it. He can't heal anything other than small cuts, not knowing how.
Blend's box: Blend "lives" in a box with teaflowers and tealeaves on. The box is fairly small, a little bigger than a jewelry box, and is thus often mistaken for a box containing tea. The word "Blend" is written on the lid of the box, on the lower right. There's a hinge on the box, which can be used to lock it. If the box is open, Blend is forced out of it, and if it's closed Blend is forced into it. He cannot choose whether to do this or not, so it's not possible for him to remain in the box if it's open, or stay out of it if it's closed. Blend can open the box himself, by pushing at the lid, as he is much like a tiny version of himself when inside it. If you lock the box, you can prevent Blend from opening the box on his own, a feature rarely used by Cyne but often used by spineless thieves or cruel people. However, the lock can be bypassed if the box is damaged to the point that it has a crack or other hole in it that allows Blend to try and reach the hinge. If he goes too far from the box, Blend will be forced into it. He's notified by a mental twinge, such as literally feeling a thread being stretched to its limit, if he reaches the limit of how far he is allowed to go. The limit is 2 kilometres. This feature is so that Blend will not leave the reach of his box - doing so, by keeping the box open so that it cannot call him back and then making Blend go out of reach, would make the link between him and the box snap, leaving him extremely mortal and vulnerable as he's left without any energy reserves, home, or way to recover. The link has to be repaired by Blend picking the box up and holding it until the link can be re-established. If the box is destroyed while the link is broken, the summon is trapped in their vulnerable position forever, unable to regain their immortality or even recover energy, making survival dangerous. The only way to regain his immortality if this happens is to find a summoner and get them to create a new item to link you to. Every item is specially-made, and only works with the summon it was made for. Thus, Blend would not be able to take another summon's item if his box is destroyed. Much like it heals its contents, the box heals itself if it is damaged. It can even rebuild itself if, say, burned. However this takes a long time, often up to a month if completely destroyed. It "regrows" near the summon, floating near them until it is so repaired that they can carry it.
Fun facts: Blend sometimes needs to be told what to do, as he does not know what is going on when he's released. Blend never wants to let go of his staff, as being without it leaves him helpless. As such, he's usually holding his staff with either one or both hands, even if he's safe, and despite the fact that the staff will automatically come with him when he enters his box. Blend loves tea. It helps calm him down if he's worried or in other ways unhappy. As Blend is made of energy, he tastes quite different from a human. His tears are sweet and filled with energy, and his blood is quite delicious, tasting more like an exotic spice than metal. Animals may be a bit wary of him, as he smells strange as well. Other than his coat, Blend's clothes can't actually be removed. His hat doubles as his hair. Although Thomas was often mean to Blend, he has only once wounded him badly(he prefers to just wound him slightly, or use more psychical means). This was after he caused the thief to lose all of the other summons, and ever since he's rather terrified of betraying Thomas in case he'd anger him to such an extent again.

He wears a long, bloody robe that's a dark purple, and greyishly yellow around the sleeves and bottom. Personality: AltBlend is insane. He gives no second thought to killing anyone, and although he hates his own actions, he kills mercilessly as it calms him down. Killing and harming others seems to be the only thing that makes him happy anymore. He is bad at communicating what he wants, and often resorts to violence when he can't express his wishes. He is rather paranoid and trusts nobody. He sometimes seems to have no will of his own. He often has an insane smile, even when he's unhappy - it's always on his face unless he's frightened, shocked or very sad - which, suffice to say, doesn't happen often. He's very hateful, and it seems that if he has any strong feelings toward someone, that feeling is hate. He doesn't seem to feel pain, and infact just finds it amusing when people hurt him. Despite this, he has enough awareness to avoid fatal blows and crippling attacks, not letting his own amusement get him killed - usually. He tends to chuckle or laugh when even a little amused, since he rarely gets to feel happy.

AltBlend was frightened and confused, but soon learned the name of the man that had taken them: Lord Cynehard(for simplicity's sake, let's call him altCyne). He knew nothing more, not of what would happen to them or whether Matsuri had survived. AltCyne tormented him for reasons he couldn't understand, and soon the man's very presence terrified him. He spoke to the other summons a lot, and over time he could see their health starting to deterioate. Another summon that was taking the abuse fairly well, Mina, helped him as she could see he got wounded a lot and taught him how to use defensive and healing spells. They tried to think of a way to escape together, all of them... But... Insanity grabbed some of the other summons. AltCyne forced them into a tournament, every fight a battle to the death. AltBlend was forced to fight and kill his own siblings, many of whom weren't even fighters. Once altCyne had grown bored and taken a brief break from it all, altBlend asked for Mina, only to find that she had been killed by one of the other summons - Delorean, delirious and murderous, his limbs torn and his tail no longer existant. Even as they were supposed to rest, he was killing the others when they were unable to or unwilling to fight back, his wretched laughter filling the air. He turned on altBlend, whom was forced to fight back, killing the lizard-like creature. For the first time in his life, he felt a sick hatred toward his sibling - he couldn't fully understand it yet, not that it was hate. But he hated him, to the point that he wanted to take his life forever, not just temporarily. He left to find the room where altCyne kept their holding items, but stopped instantly as he found it. The room where altCyne had been sitting. Broken items littered the floor, and he could recognize them to belong to those that had lost their battles. Despite knowing what happened to the losers, altCyne forced him to continue fighting, killing his siblings until he was the only one left. He broke down, but even in such a vulnerable state, altCyne wouldn't leave him alone or let him recover. The man used the technology of his box against him, to create devices that could cause him horrible pain even when he was far away or in his box, and similar technology to be able to speak to him and see what he was doing. He forced altBlend to act out his wishes, kill innocent people and destroy entire cities against his will. At first, altBlend refused and resisted as much as he could, but every time he did altCyne put him through unimaginable torture, until he was too delirious and wounded to think for himself, and just followed orders mindlessly. In this state, he attacked the city where he himself had been born, and nearly killed his mother, Matsuri. AltCyne wouldn't let her die, however, keeping her in a state of agony as he trapped her, keeping her wounds from healing. As he showed altBlend this, the summon lost his mind, the last shred of hope torn away. He tried to kill her and stop her suffering, but even after this altCyne didn't let her stay dead, reviving her. She was in a zombie-like state where all she could feel was suffering, and altCyne forced altBlend away from her, not letting him close enough to attempt such a thing again. AltBlend had lost all hope and all happiness, all will to live. All he could feel was the hate for himself and everything he was and everything he had done, and the hate and fear against altCyne for everything he had put him through. He followed orders without objecting, and as he did this he realized how fun it was. The screams and death, everything he did to the civilians, was FUN. It was a tainted happiness, but it was all he had. Ever since, he has been following altCyne's order without arguing, and killing people whenever he can, as it is the only source of happiness he has left.

Fun facts: He hates Blend with a passion, loathing him for being happy and innocent and for having what he doesn't. He wants nothing more than to tear it all away from him, like he himself lost everything. He can also see himself in Blend, what he once was, and harming Blend lets him release all the hate he has for himself. Jealousy also plays a big part in it, as he wants to take his alternate's place but knows that they would prefer the other Blend as long as the mage is better and saner than he himself is. AltBlend hates families, as well. As a result, pleading for mercy because you have a wife and kids is just going to get you killed more gruesomely. The only pain altBlend feels is that caused by altCyne and his machines, as he knows how to harm altBlend's core and psyche directly, rather than harming his body, and thus any bodily pain caused by other people feels dull and weak in comparison. AltBlend wanders the countryside aimlessly, killing those he finds wandering, but doesn't enter and destroy any cities unless told. He attacked small cities a few times in the past, but stopped when he found out that doing so would get him punished. AltCyne doesn't want him to kill ALL peasants, after all, just the unruly ones. AltBlend hates himself partially because he can see that he's become the same thing as Delorean did, a hollow, murderous shell of what was once a kind and helpful person. He will never forgive Delorean or himself for allowing this to happen. AltCyne and Matsuri are the only people altBlend feels something other than hate for; He fears altCyne with his entire being, and he feels a horrible, tearing guilt about Matsuri's position, just wanting her to be alive and okay once more as he loved her quite a bit before he was stolen. AltBlend is unable to be persuaded to change his actions or ways - simply because altCyne's influence is much greater than that of anyone else could ever be. He is extremely submissive to his owner, almost always willing to stop what he's doing, no matter what it is, in order to please him. He sees himself as nothing more than the man's property, and not only him - but everything he owns, everything he is - mind and body, belongings and friends and family... all of it belongs to altCyne, and nobody else. This is the only thing he is always sure about, and never forgets anymore no matter what. He has trouble speaking to altCyne, his mind often distorted not only by his insanity, but also by the crippling fear that the man's voice fills him with when angered. This makes him unable to explain or justify his own actions, even if he has a perfect reason or excuse for it, and even if it's a small offense. The most complex reason he has been able to say to the man is "I thought it would make you happy". Only when in pain is he able to speak somewhat well to his owner. He never goes without his staff. He usually holds it with both hands if not attacking or about to attack, keeping it close to his body. Although he once loved tea, altBlend now sees it as nothing more than poison. He hasn't tasted it for a long time, and while he probably still loves the taste, he is unable to see it as anything more than a tainted and poisonous oil, and can't bring himself to try it any longer. This is quite possibly altCyne's fault. AltBlend is always looking for happiness, unsatisfied with and loathing the tainted glee he gets from killing. He wants nothing more than he wants to feel true happiness once more. Because of this desire, and the jealous hate from seeing that they have that precious emotion, he often attacks first and THEN asks to join, if they survive. Nobody has ever let him join, causing him to kill them as the jealousy and longing turn to a strong hate. AltBlend seems to take an extra amount of glee in killing knights (maybe they remind him of altCyne?). Although he has been referred to as "altCyne", altBlend would never even consider calling his master by such a name. He usually calls him "Lord Cynehard", but if afraid or knowing he has done wrong resorts to calling him "Master" in order to please him. He is mentally incapable of calling altCyne by anything cruel, and as such he only calls him by "Cynehard" if he speaks hatefully or condescendingly about him. He hates when others call altCyne by anything shorter or more insulting, and is quick to attack such people - but never stating why.
