Top soundtracks, huh~? Sure! I'll list mine in no particular order. And surprise nobody with my tastes! 1. Megaman X7. Something about the songs to this game is just so energetic and fight-y! It's what made me fall in love with the game in the first place. 2. Megaman ZX. Happy, carefree, the songs to this game are much lighter and happier than those of the other Megaman games and I love it for it. 3. Sonic Colors. Although a new game, the soundtrack to this is just AWESOME! It's happy, cheerful, calm, and overall just BEAUTIFUL! <3 4. Kirby's Dreamland. An old game~ But so nice and happy and calm. I can listen to it in my room sometimes. =) 5. NiGHTS Into Dreams. Happy, cheerful, and generally fun to listen to! It's really easy to let your imagination wander~

Top 5 in various techno\rock track things: 5. Street Fighter EX2 Plus
It sounded like Megaman X5, the first X series game I'd ever played. No... It sounded even better.
4. Ridge Racer 6
Seems like Ridge Racer always has some good music. This is my favorite track to race to.
3. Custom Robo V2
The most important part of any music that you hear constantly is that it sounds good.
2. Metroid: Zero Mission
Best. Arrangement. Ever.
1. Project Sylpheed
Shame that Square-Enix will never make a sequel to this, not even a spiritual one since they're stuck with Final Fantasy

My personal Top 5 - Probably rather obvious.
In order of least to greatest:
5. (Breath of Fire Series) Breath of Fire IV - Endings and Beginnings(ALT)
This song takes me back to a more peaceful time. Slaying monsters, helping Dragonic Deities regain their true selves while trying to find a princess... Ah... Good times, good times. This is a rather peaceful song. Good for relaxing.
4. (Mega Man Legends Series) Mega Man Legends 2 - Theme of Geatz/Geetz
I couldn't tell you how long I would listen to this song. I'd try to delay the battle as much as possible just to hear it! Lively, dramatic, and a little on the foreboding side!
3. (Final Fantasy Series) Final Fantasy VIII - Attack on Dollet/The Landing
Perhaps the one song from Final Fantasy VIII that I remember perfectly. This song was the first taste of a real SeeD mission. The dramatic build-up, then the epic launch! This song always got my heart and adrenaline pumping!
2. (Ar tonelico Series) Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia - EXEC_PURGER/.#Aurica extracting
Ar tonelico. The entire series has wonderfully crafted music, especially the Hymmnos. This particular song is one of the first real Hymmnos you hear, depending on the path you take - not to mention the more light-hearted of the two.
1. (.Hack// Series) .Hack//G.U. Volume 2: Reminisce - To You, Dear.
...There's a lot of emotion in this song - almost overwhelming. When heard in a certain scene from G.U. Volume 2 - be careful, or you will cry. Hell, I nearly did. The .Hack// Series is always brilliant with the music, be it fierce battles or heart-wrenching tragedies.

Hmm, might as well throw in my picks.
#5: Lord of Arcana:
Sharing general melody lines with Lord of Vermillion, this Monster Hunter-esque game takes it to the limit, so to speak. Carries an incredible amount of energy.
#4: MDK
Epic and funny platform game with awesome music. Just, just watch, and, even better, play it. It holds up really well.
#3: Mirror's Edge
A game that deserved much better sales than it had, but simply proven to be too innovative to the brainwashed masses. Epic techno beats, too.
#2: Exaequo Beyond Good and Evil / Final Fantasy VIII
Both games have awesome music, 'nuff said.
#1: Ys: Oath in Felghana
Falcom picked up one of its most hated games - Ys III: Wanderers from Ys - and remade it into a masterpiece. While virtually all the music consists of remixes of Ys III tunes, these remixes are simply epic. IMHO, Falcon Sound Team JDK, the music division of Falcom, is one of the best in their job in the world.
